Regulatory ReportingWorking in the EMEA Global Liquidity Reporting team I am responsible for the implementation of new regulatory requirements from defining rules working closely with SME’s across the team to review and transactional analysis. Working as the SME for secured funding products for our Chester team. Rule build for C66 and PRA110 returns, working with stakeholders from risk, data management, IT and compliance to develop new regulatory returns. Daily, weekly and monthly preparation/review of Liquidity reports including DA LCR, ILST, ALMM and PRA 4748 returns and submissions. Validating movements in daily returns and ensuring control checks completed. With a strong working knowledge of banking products and proficient excel capabilities I am pro active in building a strong control environment, recommending updates to current processes in order to drive operational excellence.I am also involved in any adhoc projects such as requests from regulators for information, deep dive analysis of current reports and working closely with business partners across India, London and America.

Working alongside the Financial controller I am responsible for calculating both general accruals and bonus accruals, capital allowance computations and constant maintenance of the asset register including ensuring all projects have approved capex form and monthly capex report including forecast and budget. Also calculating and posting management charges and transfering costs from group department to relevant profit/cost centres. Monthly review of departmental P&L figures. Quarterly VAT for the group including partial exemption calculation. Annual budgeting procedures. Monthly reviews of reports before they are sent to executive committee. I also work closely with the project team to ensure costs for expenditure are treated correctly for accounting purposes and for office refurbishments ensuring that enhanced capital allowances are claimed were applicable. I have also completed project work including finance lead on new office openings and also a full review of all pension clients following the HMRC guidance for VAT treatment of pension schemes including contacting clients to establish if they qualify for exemption under the new guidance and calculating a claim for a refund of previously paid VAT on our fees. Finally I have helped to implement a new reporting software into the finance department, including testing and transferring data from one system to another.

Working in the corporate accounts department, completing small and medium sized accounts from start to finish including tax computations. Also completing audits for audit clients annually. Monthly management accounts for a manufacturing client spending 2 days per month at client office producing monthly P&L and balance sheet along with maintaining the asset register and filing of the quarterly vat return. Also completing monthly EU sales listing and supplementary intrastat return.

I also dealt with the completion of bookeeping and VAT Returns as well as providing clients with professional yet understandable guidence in all of there business ventures.

After winning my scholarship at a young age I decided to take the option to work for a medium sized practice based in Liverpool to gain experience of producing annual accounts for various small and medium sized entities some sole traders and also limited companies. Assisting with audits of audit clients and completing stock takes. The experience I gained whilst studying my AAT I feel has helped shape me as an individual and professional and developed my ability to communicate with clients and colleagues alike.
