Since my first electronics as a young boy, I have loved the world of technology. I remember using my Palm Pilot in middle school, learning the weird Grafiti writing technique, to using variations of PDA’s over the years. After I finally saved enough money to build my first computer in high school, I soon found myself learning all about video and audio production. My first exposure to coding was tinkering with macros in Word and Excel. I was fascinated with its methodical nature and relished the feeling of success after solving a problem. I then started building websites, working with HTML, then dabbling in JavaScript. These experiences confirmed my interested in formalizing my education to study computer science. During college, I started an internship at Intel as a Lab Tech automating data collection and creating test harnesses for UX scientists. Soon after, I moved to working with robotics, programming a tablet run the various robotic movements. Nothing was more exciting than creating something in the digital world that moved something in the physical world.I founded Sparkbytes (formerly Gate to the West) shortly after starting college with the purpose to create technology that not only works for people but is also seamless to those people who use it. Through this I’ve been able to make internal tools and over the last few years, our first product [Olleh](ollehapp.io).After receiving my undergraduate’s in computer science, I started working at iGrafx as a software engineer. Now, as a Cloud Operations manager, I continue to bring new technology to iGrafx by creating cloud architectures that will need to stand the test of time and scale, while managing a team and mentoring new software engineers.

Cloud Operations ManagerIgrafx Jun 2020 - PresentTualatin, Oregon, UsAs a Cloud Operations Manager, I can best describe my job like Scotty in Star Trek, Captain Kirk always wants more out of the engines and there’s no more to give. Well, maybe not quite! The cloud always has more computers, but living in production certainly makes warp core engineering look fun. Beginning as software engineer working with Java, JavaScript and databases and making significant overall changes like static code analysis, dependency scanning and better code coverage. Before cloud operations was a popularized job sector, I was promoted to Cloud operations manager and have since modernized iGrafx cloud infrastructure and improved many components of the iGrafx product suite on a global scale. Over the last 3 years I’ve accomplished:* Adding user synchronization capability (SCIM) using a microservice architecture* Continually improving cloud stability and deployment processes* Migrated source control and CI to modern cloud based build and test pipeline* Migrated development/production workflows to container based flows* Configured and migrated to terraform* Configured OAuth flows and modern authentication paradigms* Leading our Kubernetes adoption -
Development EngineerIgrafx Apr 2017 - Jun 2020Tualatin, Oregon, Us• Added features to primary product using Java, Javascript and SQL• Provided instrumental changes to our security and build process to improve security and overall product delivery• Maintained internal management software -
Co-FounderSparkbytes, Llc. Mar 2015 - PresentAs a cofounder of SparkBytes, I create customized application for companies to automate time-consuming processes. I’ve had opportunities to work on a variety of projects using cross-platform development, C# (.NET), JavaScript (Angular, NodeJs, etc.) and Ionic. Collaborating with different industries including insurance, transportation, and technology, I’ve succeeded to help them solve specific business needs. Olleh (ollehapp.io), a product we’ve released, is designed as a substitute for the big book of pricing, to make quality and accurate quotes. Below is a list of specific accomplishments: - Automating labor intensive processes from 3 hours per day to 10 minutes per day- Capture and process user data from one system to another with scalable solutions using C# and Angular- Create cross platform mobile applications using Firebase and Ionic -
Software DeveloperOmedia Interactive Aug 2014 - Apr 2017Web app development using CSS, HTML, PHP, and SQL as well as desktop applications using C# and WPF using the MVVM paradigm for gathering data for various IOT technologies using ADB and DFU utils. Released the tool to various individuals to collect the data, then analyzed it for debugging purposes. Also developed application to control humanoid robots for demo purposes on stage, or at high profile events. Created application to communicate over wifi using nodejs, socket.io and javascript/HTML for tablet. Designed and developed javascript API to expose low level C++ code to control robot over a web browser. Released code to open source community for continued development. -
Research ConsultantIntel Corporation Nov 2011 - Jan 2015Santa Clara, California, UsDesigned and developed tools for unreleased or newly released technologies to capture data user experience data for analysis. Technologies include gesture based cameras, android apps, and UI generation. Automated data collection and analysis for easy visualization in excel or python. Gained experience with UX engineers by helping them develop user experience models. Models are used throughout Intel to improve technology development.
