Since my first electronics as a young boy, I have loved the world of technology. I remember using my Palm Pilot in middle school, learning the weird Grafiti writing technique, to using variations of PDA’s over the years. After I finally saved enough money to build my first computer in high school, I soon found myself learning all about video and audio production. My first exposure to coding was tinkering with macros in Word and Excel. I was fascinated with its methodical nature and relished the feeling of success after solving a problem. I then started building websites, working with HTML, then dabbling in JavaScript. These experiences confirmed my interested in formalizing my education to study computer science. During college, I started an internship at Intel as a Lab Tech automating data collection and creating test harnesses for UX scientists. Soon after, I moved to working with robotics, programming a tablet run the various robotic movements. Nothing was more exciting than creating something in the digital world that moved something in the physical world.I founded Sparkbytes (formerly Gate to the West) shortly after starting college with the purpose to create technology that not only works for people but is also seamless to those people who use it. Through this I’ve been able to make internal tools and over the last few years, our first product [Olleh](ollehapp.io).After receiving my undergraduate’s in computer science, I started working at iGrafx as a software engineer. Now, as a Cloud Operations manager, I continue to bring new technology to iGrafx by creating cloud architectures that will need to stand the test of time and scale, while managing a team and mentoring new software engineers.
