- Design, synthesis and lab-scale development production of (bio)materials and fiber-reinforced composite materials.- Chemical surface modification of natural or synthetic polymers in order to enhance their interfacial and mechanical properties in composite materials- Materials characterization through microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, thermal and mechanical analysis, chromatography and in vitro cytocompatibility assays of modified substrates- Ability to initiate, schedule, progress and conclude research projects.- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, both individually and working within teams; attention to detail and critical thinking.- Collaborations with multidisciplinary university research groups and industry suppliers to develop strategies and tools for efficient product design.
