In the role of Head of Digital Innovation for Public Health England, I led PHE's digital transformation in two service areas: Behaviour Change Products and the implementation of a Mobile Applications platform.In this time I was also responsible for PHE’s product innovation pipeline and the testing of new initiatives before they are launched at scale as part of PHE’s award winning campaigns. This involved developing new digital products (including Wearable Tech) and services (web / mobile apps) to help the public to achieve their behavioural change goals. Many of these products rolled out to major campaign launches, these included: Change4Life Sugar Smart (the biggest, most successful behaviour change product launch), Smokefree, and One You websites and mobile apps.Driving this new approach presented a unique opportunity to test how the latest technologies, new service and product design methods can be applied for social good.

As one of WCRS's digital leaders Daniel sits on the Digital Steering Group, providing insight and expertise on digital innovations in agile, product development, multichannel digital strategy and leading edge UX (user experience) methods. When assigned to projects Daniel uses these and he's wealth of digital experience to lead some of our biggest digital projects in a Programme Director role. This year Daniel has been engaged with clients such as Sky, Boots, Kitittian Hill, Bwin and Santander.

Daniel has considerable experience in digital media, research and technical project management on both open source and mobile operating systems. He oversaw and led the design and build of business link’s coalition portfolio prototype and the newly launched Business Growth and Improvement website. He has led much of transform’s two-way engagement work, including three different online consultations, the build of an augmented reality application, and engagement with teachers over TES connect. He has also overseen the build of ministerial dashboards, collating news from local and National media, and built widgets for syndication of content onto desktops and mobiles. He has a keen interest in all aspects of new technology, including mobile, simulations and mashups. Daniel is a scrum master who will happily use prince 2 methods to compliment the project management process. Daniel’s wider experience draws on his background in engaging the 'hard to reach' and young people in both the service design and delivery.

Daniel worked on the development of the Parent Resource Network (iParent) an interactive resource for parents for the Department for Children, Schools and Families. This parent engagement tool will shape the way schools; key support agencies and local services will communicate and share information that is both tailored and relevant to the family.

In Daniel's role as Workforce development manager for In-volve - a social care charity - Daniel led on the workforce development strategy as well as all aspects of the staff and client learning and development programmes. In this role Daniel manage the process of Centre Accreditation for both City & Guilds and NCFE enabling In-volve to offer a range of qualifications in Health and social care.Daniel also developed a web-based training portfolio assessment system and online learning resource using a customised content management system. This process was complimented by new organisation policies, procedures and a staff training programme. The system was fully compatible with regulations from educational bodies including the QCA standards. He also developed several IT training programmes for staff and coordinated the delivery of several multi-media courses including Audio X, an accredited training programme that teaches young people digital music production skills.
