I have years of experience working as a small business consultant/mentor, as well as an employment program trainer and coordinator, delivering State and Federal Government programs and initiatives. As part of my roles, I developed strong project management and business development skills, along with the capacity to engage communities, and build relationships with a wide cross section of stakeholders, and clients from different cultural backgrounds. More recently, I have moved into the counselling space after acquiring formal qualifications, and following a passion for inspiring positive change in people and empowering others in our community during their times of personal challenges and transition. I am currently building and expanding my work in the mental health and counselling space and have started working as a counsellor with "Transforming Life in Change". This group of psychologists, counsellors and social workers from Brisbane are rolling out a pilot program in Tasmania where I am involved as a counsellor and workshop co-facilitator in the delivery of the "My Best Self" program. This program uses a psychological framework of life transition support for young people overcoming work barriers. My role is to provide counselling, coaching, psycho-education and skills development at all levels of transition in life throughout this 12-week program I am also pursuing training to become a volunteer crisis support worker to further develop my experience in crisis recognition and response.
