University of Florida Genetics Institute - DM1 ResearchInvestigated gene roles involved in mis-spliced events contributing to Myotonic Dystrophy 1 (DM1) phenotypes. Stained and imaged frozen muscle cryosections using confocal microscopy to observe localization of nuclear lamina proteins. Dissected wild type and Myotonic Dystrophy 1 mice brains to compare the localization of proteins in normal and diseased tissue. Presented findings in scientific poster presentations and short talks to Myotonic Dystrophy 1 patients to learn about their disease.
