Initially employed as a QA / QC technical officer in their production facility but was promoted to the position of Scientific Officer after 6 months. I was assigned to a project seeking to purify, identify and characterise novel fluorophores extracted from fungal origins. In this role I gained comprehensive practical experience with microbial growth, aseptic technique, HPLC and chemical characterisation.
