About Daniel Bede O'Connor

I founded and have been running Warp It since 2011 and full time since 2013. Warp It is the longest running and most effective reuse marketplace for organisations in the UK and probably Europe and the world. "Don't be a person of success be a person of value"We are all always building on the accumulated knowledge and experience of others. This is why it's important to connect and share experiences and learnings. I mainly focus on the Circular Economy, specifically extending the lifespan of products. However more recently (with the increased time pressure of Climate Emergency) I have let some of my focus move to other areas where I can help expedite sustainability. If you have any questions or problems within the specialties below, I may be able to help. If I can't help I am sure I will know someone who can.Resource efficiency | Circular Economy | Collaborative Consumption | Software development | Sustainability

  • Cleancampus
    Co Founder
    Cleancampus May 2013 - 2013
    Global
CleanCampus is for Universities and Colleges who are serious about staff and student engagement on environmental issues, whilst ensuring a high quality campus appearance. Staff and/or students become the eyes and ears of the Estates Director- reporting problems via their smart phone.Launched recently and then failed quickly. (That's the best type of failure right?)This was a collaboration project that had merit, but ultimately the partners did not have time to commit to the resources that are required to launch, maintain and deliver the online service. Lessons learned? Do one project at a time. Multi tasking affects the quality of all the tasks at hand. Trust your gut in the development stages- if collaboration tasks which should be easy are harder than they should be it could be a sign that the team does not have the commitment. This project also helped develop my experience of app development.
