Original member of the team that started a Commodities franchise at Threadneedle Asset Management, launching and running a number of mining and commodity related funds with peak assets under management of approx. $1.5bn.As a Fund Manager I predominantly focused on managing the equity portfolio for the Apex Commodities Hedge Fund (launched in 2008) for 3 years. In addition, I served as the Mining Analyst for our UK group of funds providing investment ideas in the Mining and Oil & Gas sectors for the group’s various portfolio’s, as well as generating investment ideas for a number of the other long only equity funds at Threadneedle (~$90bn of total Equity assets). This was a global mandate across all commodities and natural resource companies of all sizes and stages of development, and any other industries / companies linked to the world's commodity markets.In 2010, the Commodities team launched the first of 5 Commodity-only Long and Long-Short funds under a single strategy that is focused on investing across a range of commodity sectors (energy, base metals, precious metals, and agriculture) via futures and derivatives.
