Led team comprised of development and alumni relations professionals (and marketing and communications, prior to 2020). Responsible for all university fundraising activities and foundation board management. Member of the President’s leadership team. Provided senior staff support for the NEOMED Foundation as well as the Advancement Committee of the University’s Board of Trustees.Major accomplishments:Tied to NEOMED’s 40th anniversary, created the vision for and led all aspects of Shine On, the University’s first comprehensive campaign, including engagement of co-chairs, leadership cabinet, faculty colleagues, and University President. Raised $44 million – 10% over goal – from nearly 3,000 donors for scholarships, research, new facilities, and academic programs. Closed Campaign with most successful fundraising year in NEOMED’s history, raising $13.1 million from over 1,000 donors, including the largest grant and bequest ever received at NEOMED. Closed the Campaign with the One Shining Evening gala, a bookend to the 2014 event where the Campaign was publicly announced; together, the two events hosted over 1,000 guests and netted over $500,000 for scholarships.Cultivated and stewarded portfolio of over 100 top donors and prospects, including seven figure university donors and foundations. Solicited or co-solicited with President and others $22 million in gifts and grants from over 250 different donors and foundations. Created and launched a number of unique fundraising initiatives to address emerging needs and opportunities.Facilitated revamping of Foundation board culture and agenda. Developed Foundation strategic plan to guide post-Shine On activities, with an emphasis on stewardship, planned giving, and annual support. More than doubled Foundation assets – to over $30 million – in an eight-year period. Built and managed new development, alumni relations and marketing teams.

Reporting to the President, led operations and growth of Federation resource development from annual campaign, endowment and donor advised funds, human resources development and marketing. Led a team of 40 with a budget of $5 million, resulting in over $30 million in annual fundraising revenue. Major accomplishments: Solicited over 125 donors for annual contributions. Managed additional portfolio of development prospects through regular cultivation and stewardship, leading to increased giving, involvement, and creation of new philanthropic vehicles. Leveraged development calendar and events.  Directed all aspects of Federation human resources development. Increased staff quality and retention statistics, retaining 85% of high performers between 2008 and 2011. Organized planning process, working closely with the Mandel Foundation, to create Mandel Leadership Excellence Center, geared to the ongoing development of the highest-level professionals and governance volunteers.  Facilitated Federation’s senior management team, responsible for setting agenda and leading meetings of fifteen department heads. Represented Federation leadership in a range of public settings. Provided staff support for Federation’s board Nominating Committee, Charles Eisenman Award Committee, and the Mandel Foundation – Federation HRD Joint Advisory Team. Engaged board members and other volunteers to develop, fund and implement new special projects in arts and culture, social entrepreneurship, staff coaching and development, LGBTQ outreach, and sustainability.

Led campaign staff and collaborated with senior volunteer leaders to raise over $300 million in annual and emergency campaigns, increasing the annual campaign from $24.7 million to $30.3 million in eight years and reversing an 18-year trend of declining donor base. Developed and implemented fundraising and marketing plans for the Centennial Initiative, a comprehensive campaign that raised over $110 million.

Directed Federation’s community relations agenda; collaborated with volunteer leadership and colleagues to develop consensus positions and action plans for community responses to complex community relations issues.
