Overlooked and under-utilized. It’s how I felt for the longest time.Starting as a graphic designer, I got to stretch, flex, and work out my artistic muscles. But I felt like there was more.Becoming a strategist, my brain felt like the Grinch’s heart and “grew 3 sizes that day”. But I still felt confined.Then as I moved into my role as an email marketer, I became wise. I recognized the pattern. I began to pay attention to what lit me up and did more of that. What I learned is that it wasn’t a single thing. What brought me the most joy was using ALL the things that made me unique.Eventually setting out to forge my own path as a founder and entrepreneur, I thought I was stepping into the fullness of me. I was wrong.I was still using pieces and parts of myself as I built alongside others while allowing the auxiliary pieces to fall by the wayside.It all flipped when I began building my personal brand, though. At first, it was all teaching. I had to let everyone know how much knowledge I had. Then I told stories because those seemed to resonate. It all changed, though, when I began connecting with brilliant minds who called out things I didn’t know were there in the first place.I became a writer, a communicator, a counselor, and a coach.I became remarkably ME. No one could duplicate it. No one could cross the moat I’d created. I became 1 of 1 by leveraging every experience, skill set, and perspective I’d gained along the way.I was no longer confined to a role, skill, or experience. I’d built a new box.Being a wildly curious individual, I reverse engineered the “how” and, in the process, gained a new “why”. I realized I could help others do the same. That so many are operating within 50% of themselves who could move mountains if they’d just tap into the whole thing.With empathy, simplicity, and generosity, my aim is simple — to help everyone I come in contact with become remarkably them.
