Dan Buckman brings 15+ years of financial experience across mutual fund and alternative investment analysis, corporate mergers and acquisitions, equity capital raising, venture debt, wealth management, and financial advisory services.Prior to founding Buckman & Company, Dan served the Fredericksburg and Charlottesville areas as a Wealth Advisor with BB&T (now Truist). Dan had returned to Virginia after spending his immediate post-MBA years as an investment banker advising high-growth technology companies on their capital structure, business goals, and operational efficiency. While in NYC, Dan helped to fund and grow a tech startup of his own at the cross-section of ad tech, social media, and digital signage. Dan is a Triple ‘Hoo, with a BA in History and Economics (2008), Darden MBA in Finance (2012), and McIntire MS in Business Analytics (2021). Dan is industry certified, holding the VA Life and Health Insurance license, as well as the FINRA Series 7, 65, and 63 licenses (previously holding the Series 79, 66, and 31 licenses).Dan is passionate about personal financial literacy and in helping people reach their potential in life. He is a guest speaker with the United Way, serves on the Spotsylvania Education Foundation’s board, advises the board of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville, and volunteers as a mentor for the formerly incarcerated with Resilience Education. Dan previously served on the boards of the Moss Free Clinic and Chamber of Commerce (Young Professionals), volunteered with Stafford Junction elementary tutoring, and in college was a Project Coordinator for UVA's Madison House community service organization.
