Project Lead ConsultantAdventuretech Feb 2007 - Oct 2011Overland Park, Ks, UsJoining AdventureTech in February 2007 reinvigorated my desire to improve my skills every day. Working alongside the talented consultants at AdventureTech really helped me challenge myself and grow both technically and professionally. My first assignment at AdventureTech was both a mentoring and development role. While helping the client to develop a mass mailing administration application I also mentored the existing AS/400 developers in best practices for object-oriented design and development. We used NHibernate to access DB2 on the AS/400 using Visual Basic.NET.Another longer term project consisted of designing, developing and supporting a high-traffic e-commerce web site written in .NET 2.0 and eventually converted to .NET 4.0. The data-driven site also supports a high degree of customization with content management features and a large number of integration points with other internal and external systems. -

Technical LeadPda Software Services Inc. Nov 1991 - Jun 2002At PDA, I generally did project-based work and most of the projects were fairly large and included maintenance and support over a number of years. More often than not PDA would host the solution and provide support. When I first joined PDA in 1991, I worked on insurance target marketing application written in C/C++. It was a client server application that ran on IBM OS/2 with a DB2/400 back end database. I also designed and developed a remote data replication system for a distributed DB2 database so the system could run a subset of system functionality on a laptop.Another large project at PDA was an insurance claims management system. The client server application was written using Visual Basic 6 and Oracle was used for the database back-end. On this system I also designed and implemented a data replication system that allowed claims to be processed in the field during the day and synchronized later with the central database. Later I would prototype converting this application to the J2EE platform. During much of this project I also was responsible for a large portion of Oracle database administration activities.PDA was purchased by Selective Insurance Company in 1999 and was sold to Covansys in 2002.
