Daniel C. Hill serves on the Board of Directors for New York Independent System Operator (NYISO). Dan, who has is currently chair of the Governance Committee. has served on the board since 2013 and was formerly Chair of the Board, Vice Chair of the Board, Chair of the Audit & Compliance Committee, and Chair of the Commerce & Compensation Committee. Dan is NACD CERT Certified in Cybersecurity Oversight and has board experience that spans over 15 years and across public, private, civic and not-for-profit organizations. Dan served over 9 years on the Dominican University’s Board of Trustees, in roles including Board Vice-Chair, committee chair, and member of multiple committees. Dan has also served on Chicago’s Public Library Foundation and Chicago Council of Science and Technology boards as well as a member of board advisors for a not-for-profit and a private technology start-up. Dan blends his board tenure with his executive experience to collaborate with board colleagues and management to bring about comprehensive governance and strategy for the organizations he serves. Dan is a thought leader in board governance of cybersecurity and a co-author to multiple cybersecurity best practice papers. As a board member, Dan elevates and influences the priority and development of comprehensive cyber programs. He has instituted critical oversight programs and actively advised organizations in establishing technology and cyber funding strategies and developing scalable technology platforms. Dan is a former Senior Vice President and nationally recognized Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Exelon Corporation (NYSE; EXC), a large energy company with more than $30 billion in annual revenues. As a leader at Exelon, Dan enabled business transformation through innovative solutions and fiscal benefits while increasing the organization’s effectiveness in the areas of cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and governance. As CIO, Dan was a leader to over 1500 staff members and managed a P&L with operating and capital budgets of over $500M. Dan implemented numerous complex initiatives to consolidate organizations and technology platforms, increase standardization, drive operational excellence, improve customer service and satisfaction, achieve enterprise-level growth and reduce costs.
