About Daniel C.
So many opinions of how to create the perfect about me section but thought I’d type and see what comes out!I’ve been in the Army for 22 years and have worked in so many roles that I’ll probably forget to mention a few here. Have worked in Kosovo and Iraq as part of multinational peace keeping missions and supported UK interests by standing in as an emergency fire fighter during the fire strikes in 2002 and security operative at the London Olympics. The Army has given me the mindset to try my hand at anything and to be blunt, I just get stuff done either as part of a team or individually working to an intent which was evident when in charge of a company relocation of over 500 staff from Germany to the UK that included liaising with multiple contractors to ensure the large amounts of technical equipment safely reached its destination in a timely manner. I’ve had experience operating and supervising maintenance on heavy machinery (armoured vehicles) whilst promoting team cohesion and ensuring team safety. Experienced with the operation, maintenance and the training of others in the British Army’s digital communications system and also achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Digital Communications and IT. I have lead teams in some form since 2004 and have a lot of experience in resolving conflicts, ensuring teams work to tight deadlines and ensuring safe working environments. The teams got bigger throughout the career and the responsibility levels increased with each promotion. This encouraged me to study towards and achieve a BA(Hons) in Leadership and Management with Northumbria University which has improved my drive to ensure I develop others the best I can to ensure I empower them to achieve their best potential. I enjoy running and you’ll often find me at races across the south west of the UK wearing a pacing flag to help other runners achieve their time and distance targets. I also find running helps keep the mind clear and is a good way to de-stress after a challenging time.
