About Daniel Cozzolino
Between 2018 and 2019 I hold the position of Associate Professor in Food Chemistry at RMIT University (Victoria). Between 2015 and 2018 I was the Head of Agriculture and hold the position of Associate Professor in Agriculture at the CQU University(Queensland). Between 2011 to 2015 I hold a position as Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide, working in the development of methods (e.g. enzymatic, infrared and other instrumental methods) to increase the commercial value of Australian barley grain and malt. My role is related with the understanding of gelatinization and pasting properties of starch, amylose and amylopectin, and their relationships with quality.Between 2002 to 2011, I hold the position as Team leader and Senior Scientist at the Rapid Analytical Methods team at The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI). I was responsible for the development, application and implementation of infrared and chemometric methods for the analysis and monitoring of composition of grape and wine. Between 1993 to 2002, I was the acting manager of the Feed and Animal Nutrition Laboratory at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA La Estanzuela). I was responsible for the development and implementation of analytical methods for the analysis of quality and composition of forages, silages, hay and grains. I was the manager of the NIR Unit at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA La Estanzuela) responsible for the implementation and development of applications of infrared methods for the analysis of forages, honey, grains, soils, meat, wool and other agricultural products. I was responsible for the development and implementation of pattern recognition techniques for the authentication of agricultural products (meat, wool).Between 1990 to 1992, I was Teaching Assistant within the Animal Nutrition Department at the University of La Republica (UDELAR), Uruguay.I have started my professional career as Agronomist consultant in 1989. I was the technical adviser and manager of a Farmers Cooperative.Near infrared, mid infrared, vibrational spectroscopy, electronic noses, RVA, chemometrics, sensors, multivariate data analysis, statistics, experimental designand data analysis.
