About Daniel Davie

I’m a 3D Rigging & CFX artist with a background in other disciplines such as modelling, texturing, tool development and pipeline.I work primarily in Maya and like to use python and a modular approach to build body and face rigs for characters and creatures as well as custom rigs for props and mechanical assets. I thrive in a team environment and am comfortable learning new skills and tools quickly as well as communicating with other departments to make sure assets and their rigs work well in production.In between projects I also like to seek out other ways to contribute to studios such as building small scale tools to speed up modeling and rigging tasks as well as contributing to the development of larger pipeline projects such as automating CFX simulations and QC renders in Ziva, multi-software crowd solutions and auto compositing. More recently I have had the opportunity to lead some of my fellow artists, developing tools and workflows to assist them and trying to foster a supportive environment where they can produce their best work.
