• Introducing the Res Life concept to Hull University as employed as first ever Res Life Manager• Creating a strategy and implementing it with the aim of providing exceptional support and community building opportunities to students• Recruiting, training and supporting 50 team members over 5 locations in 4 different roles• Ensuring that the teams had everything they need to succeed, providing specialist advice in welfare and disciplinary cases• Liaising extensively with stakeholders and partners to improve the student experience and aid with the university's retention policy

• Introducing the new concept of Residential Life to Manchester Metropolitan University to coincide with the new opening of the Birley Halls of Residence• Recruiting, managing and training a team of circa 40 Residence Assistants• Working very closely with accommodation and student services staff to address welfare cases and to improve the activity provision through collaboration with the students union and MMU sports• Leading discipline, creating a new, stream-lined behaviour-management system that focuses on enabling students to reflect and learn from their actions. An example of this being the development of a partnership with Manchester City Council to have litter picking as one of the outcomes for breakage of the residence rules.

• Managing Resident Support at the University of Sheffield’s City Campus by providing pastoral care for over 1250 students through a team of student mentors and campaigns • Being responsible for the welfare of over 4000 students when on-call for emergencies • Chairing disciplinary meetings when students in the accommodations broke University regulations• Collaborating with Student Services and other groups to offer welfare support when students were struggling• Delivering a community building events programme with 30 initiatives at the City Campus
