When faced with a problem I don't shy away from trying to sovle it.At Epic I work as a Technical Soultions Engineer, assisting hospitals around the country using our Transplant software to ensure it is working as intended and to advocate for them internally for any fixes or enhancements they would like to have. Internally, I assist our development team with code development by giving customer insight, writing code for minor fixes, and prelimianary QA.During my time in the Marine Corps I was an member of the air crew and a mechanic on KC-130T aircraft. Mostly, I worked on Airframe and Powerplant issues as a maintainer. As a member of the flight crew I was responsible for inspecting aircraft for safety during all phases of flight and assisting the flight engineer with troubleshooting and reparing issues while away from base. Upon leaving the service I began my studies the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. While there I have worked on several projects including a custom tabletop for disabled individuals to attend a cooking class, a bio-fuel motorcycle, and adapting a tandem, recumbent tricycle for a partially paralyzed rider to operate it with minimal assistance.During my college years I spent four tours working at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX in various areas. I evaluated a Monte-Carlo simulation to test the early abort sequences of manned spacecraft to ensure that in a worst case scenario both the craft and inhabitants would land safely. I tested new heat exchanger designs for the ISS aimed to reduce the number of potentially harmful contaiminants in the air. For different heat exchanger technologies I maintained four test stands (two of them designed by me), collected samples to be tested, and complied the data collected to observe the contaminant build up in both the air and water systems. Working with the Mission Control group responsible for managinging the power distrubition aboard the ISS and while there I worked on reviewing and developing emergency procedures, became qualified in teaching a course on the ISS power system to astronauts, and created a database in MS Excel to create codes for emergency procedures in simulations for flight controller trainees. When I'm not helping a hospital troubleshoot issues I like to brew my own beer; in college I even developed a recipe in a class that was scaled up and distributed by a local brewery. Even then I am trying to find ways to improve the next batch or improve my process to make it more efficient with my ingredients or with my time.
