About Daniel Ferrante, Ph.D.

I am the founder of SFL Scientific, a US-based AI and Data Science consulting firm specializing in developing production-grade ML and AI solutions across the private and public sectors. Whether it's analyzing that next big strategic decision, working on a particular project, or simply developing your data science capabilities, SFL Scientific will use cutting-edge data science, mathematical modeling, and machine learning methods to help you discover more. I lead SFL Scientific in our mission of delivering state-of-the-art algorithms to enhance research and operational capabilities that drive performance and new capacities.RecognitionNVIDIA Partner of the Year for AI Services 2020 [current], 2019, 2018NVIDIA Elite Service Provider, Deep LearningAmazon Web Services Advanced ML Consulting PartnerAmazon Web Services Public Sector PartnerAmazon Web Services Solution ProviderMicrosoft Azure AI Inner Circle PartnerMicrosoft Gold Partner, Data Analytics, CloudPrior to SFL, I was a Sloan-Swartz Fellow and a Data Science Manager at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, modeling and analyzing big data in neuroscience, including quantitative big image analysis to study brain-wide connectivity in large >2PB datasets, the application of Topological Data Analysis to identify autism in the SFARI dataset, modeling the statistical evolution of brain regions, and so on.I am a theoretical physicist that used to work on resurgence, alien calculus, Higgs bundles, quantum geometry of moduli spaces, and their connection to the Geometric Langlands Duality: broadly speaking, working on non-perturbative effects in quantum field theory. I also worked on novel numerical and computational methods, such as Imaginary Monte Carlo, chaotic dynamical systems, multi-fractal systems, stochastic differential equations, Askey-Wiener chaos, etc. I was responsible for the high-performance computing infrastructure, from commission and hardware installation to security and system administration. My Ph.D. is in Theoretical Physics from Brown University, under Gerald Guralnik (Sakurai prize in Theoretical Physics; discoverer of the Higgs boson, a discovery that was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2012). Also worked closely with Michael Kosterlitz on topological phases (awarded the Nobel Prize in 2016), and with David Mumford (Fields Medal, MacArthur Fellow, National Medal of Science) on moduli spaces and geometric invariants, and James Anderson (of Simpli fame, now owned by ValueClick) on early generalizations of neural networks, network automata, and out-of-equilibrium spin glasses.
