Research And Development Manager
CurrentServe as the liaison with Orange County Government and other entities, such as vendors and individual agency sections, on construction projects and day to day management of 30 agency facilities exceeding 500,000 square feet. Annually develop and manage an operational budget exceeding $1.8 Million and numerous large-scale capital improvement projects with a budget exceeding $32 Million with another $75 Million in projected projects through 2027Review and approve proposed engineering drawings, material standards manuals and construction bid documentsDevelop Capital Improvement budgets and supervise the construction and implementation of capital projects. Conduct Management/Staffing Analysis on an as needed basis.Provide detailed metrics for uniformed patrol management focusing on response times and calls for service to effectively evaluate program effectiveness within their area of responsibilityCompile statistical data regarding agency budgets, functions, and needs, as well as county demographics and trends. Compare data to archival statistics, external agency reports, and other information as needed to allow Senior Management to make strategic decisions.Train new employees on agency policies, workflows and culture.Actively monitor professional affiliation resources to remain current on industry trends and data-informed best practices and identify mechanisms to implement within the existing framework of the organizationDesign in collaboration with internal stakeholders various solutions within SharePoint, including workflow creation, to make existing processes more efficientFacilitate Strategic Planning workshops with Senior Executives to modify and update the agency Strategic Plan.Serve as an agency representative for Collective Bargaining.Function as a board member for the civilian employee Disciplinary Appeal process providing recommendations to the Sheriff.
