About Daniel Dushime Nørgaard
Hi, I’m Daniel, a mechanical engineer specialized in innovation and product design with multiple patents in my portfolio. My creative mindset drives my work and I’m often referred to as “the idea man” by my colleagues. I’m driven by curiosity, systematic in my approach to problem solving, and love to work with people in a diverse team to create great human-centered products.Some of the happiest moments in my career have been to see ideas I’ve been sketching on paper with my team, being sold as physical products in stores and the difference they’ve made for our customers. To me, that’s where innovation has its true value. In my work I use fundamental engineering knowledge combined with creative thinking to find the best solutions to any design challenges. Knowing how to work independently is great, but nothing beats a diverse team coming together to bring ideas to life. That’s why I’m so passionate about Design Thinking and how we can all build on each others ideas. I love traveling (a lot!). I’ve visited a bunch of countries around the world and recently lived in Florida, USA, working for my current company. Traveling has taught me so much about myself and helped me understand people from various countries and backgrounds, plus it has made me comfortable with the unknown, which is quite useful when creating new things as a product developer. Through the recent years I’ve had the opportunity to challenge myself with other related tasks such as technical training of sales staff, building marketing material (physical/digital) and most recently I’ve lived in Florida for 7 months and worked as a external sales person (cold calling) which has been one of the most challenging and instructive experiences yet. Being able to work with so many fields around the products I’ve developed has built a strong understanding of what it takes to drive a business. Life has to be fun, so I use my free time breakdancing, skateboarding, playing guitar and most importantly having a good time with my lovely family.
