We provide books to children from low-income families through partnerships with public schools, social service agencies, community health clinics, and other community partners, and we have distributed over one million books since 2011. With book ownership ranking as the number one predictor of academic success and 67% of American children living in poverty owning no books at all, we are changing the literacy and education landscape in our community one book and one child at a time!In my role as Community Partnerships Manager, I managed core programs, supervised and continually grew a regular team of volunteers, organized and staffed several major events, and developed and maintained partnerships with other community organizations.I recruited, trained, and managed approximately 40 weekly volunteers along with several hundred occasional volunteers.I coordinated and oversaw distribution of 2500 books per week to 35 different partner organizations.I managed our website, blog, and social media accounts, soliciting as well as creating content.I coordinated our annual Dream Big Book Drive, recruiting, training, and supervising more than 400 volunteers and overseeing the processing of over 40,000 books. I also planned and coordinated several other events throughout the year.I created and administered all aspects of a new program, which provided over 20,000 books to middle and high school students in its first year.I regularly spoke to groups, explaining the organization's mission and vision, and I also hosted weekly volunteer events, ranging from 10 to 50 participants.
