As one of the founding instructors of the Denham Springs High School STEM and Robotics Center, I worked with educational and community partners to implement the first competitive High School Robotics Team in the district. This included creating new avenues of funding, recruiting volunteers, developing outreach events and networking with government and business partners. I also teach introductory Robotics Classes as well as Aeronautics Classes leading students to becoming commercially certified Drone Pilots. I have also:Partnered with Louisiana State University to develop and teach Robotics Curriculum and FAA Certification course, achieving 90% certification success, and preparing students for tech/engineering careers.Established and coached an inclusive robotics program resulting in a 15 percent increase in female participation and secured successful placements in STEM colleges and engineering industries for alumni. This program served as a key facet of career development for students moving from high school into college and beyond.Recruited and managed a workforce of volunteers consisting of volunteer mentors from engineering and educational fields, student members, and parent volunteers. Designed fundraising models raising over $50,000 initially and securing an average of $65,000 annually, ensuring robotics program sustainability through the pandemic and beyond.Taught 'Introduction to Robotics' and 'Engineering' courses, utilizing guest speakers to expose students to diverse tech and engineering career pathways and introduce students to a variety of programming languages. Negotiated Corporate Partnerships with NASA which led to the team being selected as a ‘NASA House Team’ providing over $20,000 in funding and valuable career experiences for students.

As the developer of a Robotics Engineering program at our local high school, I've learned through experience what is needed to turn curious tinkerers into excited engineers. What I have grown to love most is bringing these experiences to other K12 educators - both in administration and at the ground level. A few examples are when I:-Developed and presented tailored coursework and led workshops for K-12 educators, school board officials, and school principals, aiding in the creation and implementation of STEM programs across K-12 education.-Served as the FIRST Robotics Senior Mentor in Louisiana from 2014 - 2016, initiating the FIRST Tech Challenge Program. The program has grown to over 50 teams in ten years, expanding hands-on robotics programs across public, private, and homeschool sectors.

Provided relevant, cutting edge course material to students including:• Establishing the first AP® Human Geography courses within EBRPSS in 2012, long before their adoption by other schools within the area.• Developing innovative curricular material for AP® Courses being used by teacher-leaders and instructors across the world via offline and online resources. • Cultivating and creating a curriculum for Engineering and STEM programs within Woodlawn High School, eventually leading to the establishment of the Robotics Academy within the school.

I directed the creation of an internationally known competitive high-school robotics team, the first in the Greater Baton Rouge Area and provided consultation for the creation of programs in multiple schools across the state. This includes• Developing partnerships with local and international corporations, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding to support STEM development through the local high-school and other programs within the state. • Organizing high profile events that have attracted focus to STEM programs throughout EBR Parish including a multi-state Robotics Competition Event, and an annual festival at the State Capital. • Networking with multiple stakeholders to provide for the development of STEM programs throughout the state.• Managing a program of teachers, students, mentors from the private and public sector, and parents to create a cohesive competitive organization that has action-based results in changing the lives of its participants.
