I have become a licensed tour guide in Israel. In the UK I was a university lecturer (English Literature), a solicitor (specialising in media law) and a teacher (English). I have a doctorate from Cambridge University, I published a book on the satirist Jonathan Swift (who hated lawyers vehemently) and for fun I have abridged Tristram Shandy, Gulliver’s Travels and Robinson Crusoe as audio books. As a lawyer I used to handle IP and IT agreements and dispute resolution for brand owners, personalities and corporations, many of them in the world of new media and technology (such as Telegraph Media Group). I headed up Commercial and Media, IP and IT departments at respected central London solicitors firms. I qualified as a solicitor in 1992; I practiced till 2017.My 25 year legal experience included a series of successful cases in the media and entertainment world including Cell Mates, My Fair Lady (stage and video rights), Lord of the Dance, and Big Break. I have acted for the Shaftesbury Theatre, the Society of Authors, the Writers Guild, the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, Nicole Farhi, iRobot, merchandisers, sporting personalities, theatrical producers, musicians, inventors, a cartoonist and even an opera director. But as from May 2023, based in Jerusalem I am moving on to something completely new....
