My Ph.D. studies have encompassed a diversity of experiences in experimental science. I have had the opportunity to get involved with different relevant projects and learn in a variety of fields, while enhancing my technical knowledge, skills and abilities.✔ I have developed a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) methodology to realize selective deposition of metal particles on ceramic substrates, along with the construction of related experimental apparatus, while exploring several characterization techniques to study the produced materials and their properties. This project has resulted in 3 conference presentations.✔ I have been learning about gas adsorption/desorption techniques to characterize solid surfaces with high degree of accuracy.✔ I have helped maintenance and upgrade of equipment and instrumentation applied to several different experiments and projects in materials and surface chemistry/surface science fields, leading to 3+ presentations at conferences and workshops in the same fields.✔ I am a self-starter, and I have independently created a MATLAB script for the analysis of nanomaterials pore size distribution, obtained with 3 different gases.✔ I have participated to neutron spectroscopy experiments at large user facilities and to related workshops and conferences, and I have presented at several National Meetings.✔ As part of my Graduate Student commitment, I have served as International Chair for the Association of Chemistry Graduate Students (ACGS) and am currently part of the volunteer Planning Committee of the East Tennessee Section of the American Chemical Society, for which I have helped the organization of science-related events.
