I am a motivated and enthusiastic physical chemist who has developed relevant innovation-oriented technical skills and knowledge. My striving and passion for learning and understanding phenomena at the fundamental level led me to pursue an education with background in physics and advanced studies in chemistry.During my Ph.D. career, I have been working on different research projects which have broadened my experience and abilities (e.g. troubleshooting and creativity), as well as deepening my interests for applied science and technologies.I am currently working in a development engineering role at a world-renowned semiconductor company, with a focus on silicon carbide (SiC) technologies and related markets.I am open to new challenges and would like to contribute shaping the future of business and society. I enjoy investing my talents toward solving new and exciting problems.I am a father who enjoys playing with his two boys, and I believe in educating the current and future generations for a better world.I am an open-minded person with an international perspective, and I like engaging with people from all over the world. I look forward to knowing new people and building solid relationships. Please feel free to contact me on the phone or at daniele.paradiso89@gmail.com!

Ph.D. CandidateUniversity Of Tennessee, Knoxville Aug 2014 - Aug 2019Knoxville, Tennessee AreaMy Ph.D. studies have encompassed a diversity of experiences in experimental science. I have had the opportunity to get involved with different relevant projects and learn in a variety of fields, while enhancing my technical knowledge, skills and abilities.✔ I have developed a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) methodology to realize selective deposition of metal particles on ceramic substrates, along with the construction of related experimental apparatus, while exploring several characterization techniques to study the produced materials and their properties. This project has resulted in 3 conference presentations.✔ I have been learning about gas adsorption/desorption techniques to characterize solid surfaces with high degree of accuracy.✔ I have helped maintenance and upgrade of equipment and instrumentation applied to several different experiments and projects in materials and surface chemistry/surface science fields, leading to 3+ presentations at conferences and workshops in the same fields.✔ I am a self-starter, and I have independently created a MATLAB script for the analysis of nanomaterials pore size distribution, obtained with 3 different gases.✔ I have participated to neutron spectroscopy experiments at large user facilities and to related workshops and conferences, and I have presented at several National Meetings.✔ As part of my Graduate Student commitment, I have served as International Chair for the Association of Chemistry Graduate Students (ACGS) and am currently part of the volunteer Planning Committee of the East Tennessee Section of the American Chemical Society, for which I have helped the organization of science-related events. -
Teaching AssistantUniversity Of Tennessee Aug 2014 - Aug 2019Knoxville, Tennessee Area✔ While pursuing my doctoral research, I have continuously teaching-assisted undergraduate courses in physical chemistry and general chemistry subjects.✔ Among the classes where I have been teaching assistant there are: Physical Chemistry, General Chemistry, Laboratories of Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Spectroscopy.
