*Grains and soft commodities market analyst*In 2006, I started working for AgRural as a market analyst and coordinator of the market information service for agricultural companies, covering soybeans, corn, wheat, rice, sugar, ethanol, cotton, and coffee. Working as a market analyst has made me concentrate on market intelligence issues, attending to specific demands from corporate clients, and preparing and presenting lectures and training courses on corn and soybean markets. *Creating a new market in the U.S.*In 2007, I was the first employee sent to AgRural’s new Des Moines, Iowa office. The goals were to learn more about the U.S. corn and soybean markets and to start making AgRural’s name and work known in the Midwest. That one-year experience living and working in the U.S., along with at least two annual travels to that country, starting in 2009, was significant for the work developed by AgRural in the following years. As one of the results of the time spent in the Midwest, I presented lectures on Brazilian ag markets in Illinois (Illinois Farm Bureau, 2013) and Ohio (Ohio's Country Journal/The Ohio State University Extension, 2014). In 2014-15, I also had the opportunity to be a columnist for Ohio's Country Journal.*Turning AgRural into a global brand*Since 2006, I have worked to improve AgRural’s presence in Brazilian and international press. That work has contributed to turning AgRural into a global brand and a world reference when it comes to Brazilian corn and soybean crops and markets. I also started a new information service in English for clients in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. At the same time, I became AgRural’s social media coordinator. *In the press*Although still a proud and active journalist, in the last twelve years I have been more of an interviewee than an interviewer. My contributions as a corn and soybean specialist can be seen in media outlets such as Folha de S.Paulo, O Estado de S.Paulo, Valor Econômico, Reuters, and Bloomberg.

I started as a trainee, after a long and hard selection process, and then was hired as a reporter. Although I had spent less than a year working for Folha de S.Paulo, my time as a reporter for Brazil’s most influential newspaper was very important for my professional and personal development. An invitation for a job more in line with my goals at that time, however, made me come back to AgRural, this time as a market analyst.
