Through the very competitive Research Experience for Undergraduates program through the National Science Foundation, I worked with researchers at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory located on MSU's campus, one of the leading nuclear physics research labs in the country and world. My responsibilities included creating a stream-lined characterization process for new scintillator bars, keeping a lab notebook, presenting at weekly meetings, and presenting research in front of groups of scientists. This experience of communicating technical concepts to others was valuable for my interest in engineering administration and technology.
