Current• Responsible for the management and overall operation of a recreational facility, including the management of staff and efficient building scheduling to accommodate various user groups.• Works closely in a collaborative partnership with internal and external parties, including non-profit organizations, Board of Education, city municipalities, contractors, and other government agencies, in the interest of fulfilling the recreational needs of the community. • Develops, establishes a… Show more • Responsible for the management and overall operation of a recreational facility, including the management of staff and efficient building scheduling to accommodate various user groups.• Works closely in a collaborative partnership with internal and external parties, including non-profit organizations, Board of Education, city municipalities, contractors, and other government agencies, in the interest of fulfilling the recreational needs of the community. • Develops, establishes a budget for, schedules, advertises, and manages new recreation programs.• Compiles and creates report information using Microsoft Office applications for the following: monthly and annual activity reports for county programs, operating and capital budget requests, timesheets, contracts for independent contractors, facility use forms for Board of Education facilities, maintenance requests, supervisor's incident reports, financial accountings from facility/programs, and other information as requested. • Revises and develops forms using Microsoft Office applications and installs procedures for their use and instructs others in their application.• Gathers information for and creates calendars, flyers, newsletters, and meeting agendas. • Deals with unusual circumstances relating to programs / facilities, including emergency situations that require immediate action and problem solving skills. • Interviews, trains, evaluates, and supervises temporary/part-time/seasonal staff; recruits and trains volunteers while also advising and acting as a resource person/facilitator for volunteers.• Assists with the inspection of recreation facilities.• Composes and answers correspondence, maintains inventory, and recommends purchase of supplies.• Performs administrative tasks that involve using computer applications and various office equipment.• Provides suggestions for department planning, while enforcing current policies and procedures.• Covers duties of subordinate staff in their absence.
