About Daniel Filbert
After starting my career, with fixing cars, i found out that i have a lot more passion for software.And i also found out, that software can never stand alone. For software to add value, the process for deciding which features to develop, how to operate the systems, and how to reach the customers, are equally important.And when you have been in the development environment for some time, you start to recognise, the people that actually add to the value chain, and the people that just are in the business to "survive".For a lot of my career, i have been very focused on the tech part, and the skillset, that i thought would be crucial to be a successful member on a software development team. And i cannot tell, if its from age or experience, but now i have really realised, how important it is to surround yourself with motivating people, to create the best team. The frase "Hire for personality, train for skills" might be old news in HR and management by now, but nonetheless it is still just as relevant.So when hiring new people, i take pride in looking at the entire person. This requires some degree of courage, to go by your gut-feeling, and not just look at the persons CV. And when trying to manage a team, coaching in behaviour is just as important, as sparring on the solutions.And luckily, i find a lot of joy doing all this in my daily job. But only because its a joy to be around exciting people every day. :)
