Recovery Vermont is a hub for all things addiction recovery in Vermont. We support the recovery workforce by training and certifying all of Vermont's Recovery Coaches who help thousands of Vermonters per year. In addition to hundreds of Vermont certified recovery coaches, we recently certified our 107th IC&RC internationally recognized certified recovery coach, which requires more than 500 hours of service in a recovery or recovery-adjacent setting, a set number of hours of supervision, continuing education credits, and a qualifying examination. Recovery Coaches work in all corners of the state: in all of our major hospitals, in employment services, in corrections, in housing, in treatment facilities, and in co-occurring mental health services. Recovery Vermont is at the forefront of new approaches to addiction recovery and mental health supports, and we do what we've always done since 1939, advocate for excellent, humane, and readily available recovery and mental health supports. We also were the birthplace and parent organization for a number of now-independent organizations including Camp Daybreak, the Me2Orchestra, the Vermont Alliance for Recovery Residences, and the Vermont Recovery Network. We are the home of the Recovery Friendly Workplaces Initiative. We lead a statewide, HRSA-partnered rural workforce initiative. Mission Statement:North Central Vermont Recovery Center is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe, and substance-free environment for individuals and families on their paths to lasting recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.Our vision is to enrich the social lives of individuals, families, and communities who have been affected by addiction. All programs and services at NCVRC are provided FREE OF CHARGE.

As a sales representative for Syntek Global, Inc. and country manager for the parent company, I worked closely with small and large companies as well as individuals in the US and in more than twenty countries selling and marketing the company’s products. I helped Syntek to recruit and train talented members of the sales team and led international expansion, built positive brand recognition, and helped more than 3200 sales representatives succeed with millions of dollars in sales. I helped to introduce Syntek Global’s products to East Africa and East Europe and have been largely responsible for managing operations in those regions working with corporate. My duties included maintaining an office and staff serving these regions, inventory management, compliance management, liaising with government officials and dignitaries, customer care, shipping and fulfillment, small-scale and large-scale logistics and implementation, marketing, financial management, international travel, the development of training programs and materials, presentations and more. I also assisted with these same duties in other new markets either through a direct role or in an advisory capacity.

Phoenix Diagnostic Labs is a CLIA-certified clinical toxicology laboratory specializing in drug and alcohol testing and collection services for addiction treatment programs, hospitals, and drug courts. We provide customized, proactive, and innovative solutions that fit the needs of our healthcare partners and compassionate, supportive services for our patients. We understand the needs and challenges of the people we work with from many years of professional experience, and we aim to be a trusted, long-term partner in prevention, treatment, and recovery processes. Yet Phoenix Diagnostic Labs was not only founded to be a leading toxicology lab and a collection site. Phoenix Diagnostic Labs emerged from our dream to serve an even greater purpose. Our mission is to transform the traditional role of drug testing laboratories in prevention, treatment, and recovery processes by empowering individuals, families, and communities to affect positive and enduring change in the effort to combat addiction. We commit to immersing ourselves within the prevention, treatment and recovery communities, to walking the walk, and to providing services and support that benefit people in need. After extensive vetting, training, and examinations, I received a position at the Vermont General office of one of the world’s most influential and respected financial institutions, at the time #61 on the Forbes 100 list and the 23rd largest investment firm in the world. As a highly-trained agent with New York Life licensed in several states, I successfully helped people manage their money and plan for their futures while offering life insurance, estate planning, long-term care, asset preservation, workplace benefits, and many other products and services.

I had numerous and diverse duties which grew steadily during my tenure. The core of my job was to work with the sales and marketing managers and the sales team of around twenty representatives to enhance opportunities and performance in their territories and engagement in their communities. I generated reports on several performance metrics, created presentations, and conducted trainings that routinely relied on the use of the Microsoft Suite and other technological platforms. I was an administrator with exceptional knowledge about several technologies crucial to operations including LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and acted as one of two main troubleshooters and trainers for these programs company-wide. I coordinated our attendance and activities at trade shows and community events as well as internal company events. I helped coordinate between the sales team and other departments and supported team members throughout the company to enhance communication and productivity. I facilitated the provision of all marketing materials and necessary supplies to several departments including the sales team. And I also managed our inventory of nearly fifty essential marketing pieces.I assisted in management of our social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. And I helped lead major brand building campaigns that helped build new markets. I was the photographer and videographer for numerous company events and community events, and have helped build a library of educational materials along with the marketing team including our “lunch and learn” continuing education program. I served on our 10th anniversary planning committee and our workplace safety committee. And among other volunteer work, I participated in nearly every community event and community service program the company was a part of, which led to hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for charitable causes.

My duties assisting CEO of Partner Tire were varied and extensive. They included event and promotional planning, sales and customer service, making travel arrangements, recruiting, inventory management, and more.

Over the course of three semesters as a graduate assistant for three different professors in the history department, I graded student work, tutored students, led review sessions, held office hours and guest-lectured for courses including "The Modern World," "Western Civilization, 1500-Present," and "Western Civilization: Antiquity to 1500" covering topics over a large amount of time and geographical space. I also advised in the writing of exams and paper topics, lecture content and syllabi.

My responsibilities included traveling to nearly all of the company's client locations in New England, working with warehouse and store managers, as well as my own supervisors, to maintain stock of PepsiCo products in the stores, large and small. My duties also included building displays, interacting with customers, driving company vehicles, and more.

My responsibilities included store beautification, stocking, management of eight employees, financial management and banking, inventory control, shrinkage reduction, and customer service.The brevity of this position was a result of the fact that I was working two full-time-plus jobs concurrently, and I resigned this position as a career choice in excellent standing with my supervisors.

02/09-05/10 Elizabeth D. Leonard, Lincoln’s Forgotten Ally: Judge Advocate General Joseph Holt of Kentucky (The University of North Carolina Press, October 2011).Over the course of more than fourteen months as professor Leonard’s research assistant, I conducted significant research for this scholarly work, the co-recipient of the 2012 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize. As a researcher and adviser, I made extensive use of microfiche, microfilmed copies of The U.S. Army and Navy Journal, newspapers from the 19th Century, and primary documents from the Library of Congress and Huntington Library as well as secondary sources. I also helped curate, inventory, transcribe and analyze delicate personal manuscripts and photographs related to the biography’s subject, Joseph Holt, entrusted to us by his descendants. And I assisted with the editing stages prior to publication. 01/09-05/09 Elizabeth D. Leonard, Men of Color to Arms! Black Soldiers, Indian Wars, and the Quest for Equality (W.W. Norton and Company, August 2010).I contributed in the final stages of copywriting for this work as Professor Elizabeth Leonard’s research assistant over the course of one semester prior to publication and moving on to other projects.

I worked on many projects while helping Special Collections to fulfill its key role in Colby College’s year-long bicentennial celebration. Mainly I conducted research and created a timeline available at http://www.dipity.com/colbyhistory/ meant to provide alumni with a way to learn about Colby's history online and helped design special pages through the college’s website and social media for Special Collections’ year-long online presence. I also curated photographs and other types of Colbiana, including memorabilia and documents to be put on display during special events around campus and on tour off campus.

I worked closely with special needs students as well as advanced students in a sixth-grade classroom helping them with projects, reading, and writing and other grade appropriate tasks.
