Over the course of my 40 years in the practice of law, I have handled numerous litigation matters, always seeking the most favorable outcome for my clients. I have defended insurers, as well as individuals and companies with insurance, against personal injury lawsuits involving medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, coverage disputes, and general negligence. I have also represented lenders​ and property owners in title claims and related litigation, and individuals and companies in commercial and consumer litigation. I regularly appear in state and federal courts and mediation and arbitration tribunals throughout Michigan, and have handled over 75 cases, most of which resulted in a jury verdict. I have argued appeals before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Michigan Supreme Court, and also appear before administrative agencies on behalf of physicians and other health care providers in licensing and regulatory proceedings. I also have drawn upon my litigation experience as a Certified Mediator to assist litigants in reaching out-of-court resolutions to their disputes. I have also leveraged my practice experience as a lecturer and author on health care, property taxation, and civil litigation topics.
