I am a hard-working, self-motivated individual who is looking for a chance to prove himself at an entry-level position. Though I relocated to Southern California for school, I was born and raised as a Washingtonian and I am looking to move back to the Pacific Northwest.I pride myself on two main things:First, I am responsible. In the last three years, I have worked 3-4 shifts at the YMCA every week. Many of those shifts were opening lifeguard shifts that required me to get up bright and early at four in the morning to make it to work on time. Yet in all of that time, I have never once been so much as a minute late to any of those shifts. I have been repeatedly recognized by my supervisors for my consistency and was even given a Staff of the Month Award during one particularly hectic month in which I stepped-up and took extra shifts. Second, I have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. My time in graduate school, coupled with my experience working with children and seniors at the YMCA, has helped me develop the ability to communicate successfully with diverse audiences and to tailor my approach to the situation presented. Whether it is composing a 10,000 word research paper for a professor or teaching a terrified three-year-old how to float, I truly enjoy finding the most effective ways to convey essential information.
