A quick way to sum up my career and my interests would go along the lines of “Finding ways to make someone’s ideas work and build on them”. I like solving problems, developing ideas and making those ideas a reality. Most of the projects that I’ve worked on started with a question. Some of the questions have been “How do I make my company more well known in China?”, “How do I reduce the waiting time for ordering my food and paying the bill in a bar or restaurant?, “How to I make people drink more coffee?”, or even “What do you know about macadamia nuts?”.From those questions, with a lot of discussion, planning and budgeting, I have worked with ‘the question asker’ to come up with viable business solutions, to build their business, develop new businesses or create new products. For the past 10 years I have worked in Asia in various areas of the food value chain. From sourcing, distributing and marketing new products, developing technology solutions for the hospitality industry and educating customers on how to best make use of their purchases.I believe in providing honest answers that allow informed decision-making rather than the quick sale. A part of this is managing expectations and meeting requirements, whether these are based on budget, manpower, time constraints or the end result. In doing so I have built a reputation for being able to deliver what I say I will deliver when I say I’ll deliver it.
