Dan is a managing director in BDO’s tax consulting practice. He has nearly 15 years of professional tax experience.Over his career in public accounting, Dan has focused on providing tax consulting and tax planning to partnerships and corporations in a variety of industries. Dan has extensive experience with the Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII) deduction, Section 861 expense allocation and apportionment, U.S. Research & Development Credits, Section 174, Section 199, and tax accounting methods.Dan also has significant experience with IRS controversy, working collaboratively with companies and the IRS team to resolve issues at the exam level and at appeals. Dan received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Michigan Technology University and a master of science degree in taxation from Wayne State University. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of CPAs. Additionally, Dan sits on the Ruth Ellis Center board of directors. He also serves on the accounting advisory council for Michigan Technology University College of Business as well as a mentor in the Wayne State University Corporate Mentor Program.
