I format the data and analyse it using Microsoft Excel or specialist actuarial software e.g. Superval along with my own numeracy and problem-solving abilities. I identify any anomalies in the data or causes for concern. I liaise with all stakeholders (scheme actuaries, trustees, employers, IFAs, auditors, and pension scheme members), and draft final reports which are then checked by pensions actuaries. I am responsible for the invoicing of all my work and in managing the after care for clients, including answering queries on the report, explaining technical pensions information, and fulfilling requests from auditors of the pension scheme.I am competent in drafting reports for pension schemes under GAAP standards including FRS 102, IAS, and FASB ASC 175. I follow department policies in drafting these reports, ready to be checked by the pensions actuaries I work with, before being returned to me to issue to the client.I also have experience in drafting key documents for pension schemes, including annual reports, transfer value guidance reports (i.e. providing the scheme actuary's recommendation for the financial basis to be used when quoting transfer values for members of the pension scheme) , letters containing values of the annuities in accounts (i.e. the value of pensions paid from annuities held by the scheme, and the total value of annuities held by the scheme) , and data analysis reports (i.e. a breakdown of the common and scheme specific data held by the pension scheme).
