My time at GoDaddy has been a tale of three companies. I joined the creative team in 2006 as the second UX designer and took on design ownership of several products. For the next 5 years, I cut my teeth in what is best described as a founder-led startup environment. The culture had a strong emphasis on high-velocity delivery. Our high velocity allowed me to work on countless projects including all of GoDaddy's most successful businesses. In 2010, I took on the management of the Product Design team. We began establishing and refining our processes while nearly doubling the team size. I also lead the creation of GoDaddy's first design system at this time. In 2011 the founder sold and we began working on modernizing the company. I was an active leader who kept the product design team focused on delivery. I also worked closely with the new leadership to build a new vision for our products. This vision would ultimately propel GoDaddy to its initial public offering in 2015.Today, the design organization at GoDaddy is orders of magnitude larger and more complex than when I joined. I have been fortunate enough to grow with it over the years. That growth has exposed me to a variety of scenarios and cultures, each with its own set of lessons. Through all the change I have learned how to lead my team to drive value even in uncertain times.
