Yes Energy develops an industry-leading analytical platform to help companies in the electric power industry use data to inform investment decisions across all North American nodal power markets.At Yes Energy, I wore several hats. I focused on application development, helping to lay the groundwork for the conversion from a Flash-based application to a modern HTML5 (React) framework. I also led several key analytical content initiatives and worked as a product manager to help integrate some third party data into the product suite.

Greater Denver Area

Engaged in analytics of the natural gas, power, and crude markets, with a focus on modeling underlying fundamentals and coordinating efforts to better understand and forecast associated commodity prices. My particular areas of focus included analyzing natural gas flow data, reconstructing the electricity supply stack for various ISOs, and tracking anticipated retirements and new builds of gas pipelines and electric generators.

Eight years as a quantitative analyst, energy trader, and data management specialist with a strong fundamental understanding of electricity markets, robust modeling, investment decisions, and database design.The approach at DC Energy while I worked there was largely holistic in that I was involved in the full trade cycle from hypothesis generation to execution of trades and risk management. I worked on data acquisition, developed internal dashboards and bidding tools, wrote and tested strategy algorithms, and made real-time trading decisions. I led or co-led teams that covered virtuals (day-ahead trading) in MISO, PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, and ERCOT, managed the risk of our OTC and exchange-traded portfolio, and had a lead role on our data management team.

Led tutorials, graded assignments, and provided general assistance to students in Statistical Methods in Engineering (ENGS 103) and Science of Materials (ENGS 24).
