Pipeline Project Engineer - Field Engineer, Tengizchevroil (TCO) - Tengiz, Kazakhstan.Oversight of pipeline construction contractors

The Tengiz and Korolev reservoirs are world-class oil fields in Western Kazakhstan, which contain more than 25 billion barrels of oil and 61 TCF of Gas. The FGP (Future Growth Project) is planned as the next major expansion of TCO’s oil production capacity. The planned capacity of the FGP process facilities is 33420TPD of stabilized oil and 960 MMSCFD of injected gas. Pipeline scope includes 350km of production gathering systems, fuel gas, diesel, and high pressure sour gas injection. Responsibilities include:• Act as liaison between home office engineering and pipeline construction, and ensure resolution of site queries• Manage interfaces between pipelines and plant piping; pipeline and civil foundations and supports• Interface with client’s pipeline engineers and project management to reach agreements on critical design items, such as crossing methodologies of existing high pressure pipelines• Review of construction drawings, particularly for crossings of high pressure services, cathodic protection installation, alignment sheets, station approach ISOs, vendor drawings (pig traps, MIJs, pipeline valves, anchor flanges)

San Luis Potosí Area, Mexico

Commissioning of 291km, 42” gas transmission pipeline and delivery stations in states of San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato and Queretaro in Mexico. Activities included:• Development of in-line inspection scope of work and contractor bid evaluation• Lead pipeline internal inspection activity using caliper pig• Lead pipeline and station piping drying to -30°C dew point using high flow nitrogen injection• Develop commissioning and testing step-by-step work instructions for piping, valves and mechanical equipment• Designated Station Lead for up to three Regulation and Metering Stations, with the following responsibilities:o Manage and perform mechanical commissioning and pre-commissioning activities: piping blowing, drying, leak testing, valve seat testing, oxygen purge, gas packing, PSV calibration, instrument calibration. o Gas-in Process: Manage direct-hire labor, client’s operators, and pig tracking contractor during gas-in of pipeline sections and metering stationso Manage personnel and contractors for commissioning of control systems, instrumentation, flow computer, control valves, gas analyzers, electrical systems, emergency generator and utilities.o Manage client’s operators’ daily activities.o Responsible for safety, and authorizing work permits in an operational environment.

Construction of 120km high pressure gas transmission pipeline in Queensland, Australia. Scope of work includes installation of pipeline, fiber optic, and cathodic protection system. Surface facilities scope includes structural steel and manifold piping, electrical and instrumentation. General responsibilities included: • Lead a team of three site engineers and report to Fluor’s Construction Manager and Santos’ Site Manager• Review contractor bid packages for technical and schedule compliance• Resolving technical queries on site, and liaising with home office for engineering support• Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables, work method statements, plans and procedure qualifications• Review of pipeline HDD and bored crossing methodologies and drawings • Review and approve hydrostatic test packs (AS2885 and ASME B31.3)• Review and approve as-constructed documentation• Planned and coordinated the execution of a telecommunications shut-down to Santos’ FOC backbone in Roma and Fairview areas• Provided support to material management, construction management and QA/QC in performing material inspections, construction supervision, quality inspections and review of quality documentation• Conduct commissioning walk downs, and ensure close-out of punch list items for civil, structural, mechanical, and pipeline contractors

Gas field development in West Queensland, Australia in FEED and EPC stages. Scope of work includes low pressure gas and water gathering systems, approximately 750km of HDPE pipelines, and 120km of high pressure gas transmission pipeline. Responsibilities included:• Site scouting and pipeline routing• Review of hydraulics including transient and pipeline sizing calculations and reports• Review of pipeline mechanical design calculations per AS2885 and APA CoP• Review of alignment drawings, typical construction drawings, and special crossing drawings• Development of Hydrotest Philosophy and Fracture Control Plan for steel gas transmission pipeline• Development of Pipeline Basis of Design, Operations, Commissioning, Maintenance and Isolation Philosophies for transmission pipeline and gathering system• Coordinate Safety Management Study Workshops between Engineering, Construction and Operations• Development of scope of work for construction contractor• Provide engineering support to constructability reviews• Assigned to Farnborough Office for 8 weeks to expedite review and approval of Train 1 alignment sheets
