I am responsible for developing and securing public health policy change, on behalf of the largest public health NGO in the UK. My core responsibilities include: - Writing strategic plans to improve the political climate for disease prevention- Producing high-quality policy positions and consultation responses on a range of public health topics- Managing team members to deliver policy development and advocacy objectives. My UK policy achievements include:- Securing a commitment in the Scottish Government's 2017 Diet and Obesity Strategy consultation to restrict 'multi-buy' style price promotions on junk food- Writing an influencing strategy to secure the Soft Drinks Industry Levy- Working on an award-winning campaign to introduce standardised tobacco packaging- Securing strengthened restrictions of how junk food is marketed to children online- Writing peer-review papers to advancing the tobacco tax and price evidence base- Conducting media interviews, to communicate the impact of population-level public health policy.
