There are five things you might want to know about me: 1. I help companies with their strategies. Lots of people say they do strategy. My clients say I am unique because I provoke their thinking, help their exec teams and Boards align on direction, and understand actions needed to implement. My clients also seem to like me - this point might sound silly, but I am rather proud of it, because many clients do not like consultants. 2. I work primarily with consumer companies that are often family or private equity owned. Clients span B2B, B2C and B2B2C. The definition of a consumer company seems to be blurring as my clients also intersect technology, lotteries and gaming, health, financial services - and sometimes even government. My clients say I am unique because I help them see opportunities from beyond their industry. 3. I help individual client executives be successful in new leadership roles. I most frequently work with new CEOs (or people in a CEO selection process) to get their priorities sorted, figure out how to get the most out of their teams, and manage the complex stakeholder environments they are in. 4. I am responsible for Deloitte's Sustainability business in Canada. This practice serves the complex and novel challenges our clients face with creating a more sustainable future. We help clients make measurable progress by bringing to the table all areas of Deloitte's expertise. This leadership role means I represent our business in multiple commercial settings, open doors for other Deloitte partners, and mobilize the best of our firm for our clients. I also help Deloitte contribute to the community including being a captain of Deloitte's Ride to Conquer Cancer cycling team. 5. I help attract and retain our people. Individuals considering Deloitte for a career enjoy talking to me as I give an unvarnished view of the pros / cons. People at Deloitte use me as a coach on their career path. I get a lot out of these interactions and selfishly find I learn from and am motivated by the relationships I have with so many of our employees.
