Throughout my time in GM’s Global Propulsion Headquarters, I was able to greatly expand my automotive, testing, and troubleshooting knowledge. Tasked with ensuring all 125+ test cells executed testing efficiently and generated quality data throughout the development & validation of future engine, transmission, and electrification product lines. With a wide scope, daily responsibilities ranged from test setup & fine-tuning of products undergoing thermocycling/endurance/tilt stand/steady-state testing to troubleshooting any issues that came up with test software & hardware.- Testing software setup, refinement, and troubleshooting (PUMA, IndiCom, Concerto, INCA, CANoe, Busmaster, LabVIEW, Delta-Analyser)- Hardware configuration and troubleshooting (PID Valves, Sensors, PLCs, Controllers, Thermal Stands, Specialty Equipment, Emission Equipment, Dynamometer)- Interfaced with product engineering, scripting, I&E, and technicians to perform a variety of testing for an extensive propulsion systems product line.- Tuned tests to ensure products were meeting the desired GM/Global test criteria - Initiated root cause analysis of product, hardware, and software inconsistencies while testing- Lab improvement projects (Coolant Stand Pressure Regulation DFSS, Differential Selection DFSS, Pedal Simulation Auto-Calibration, LE Data Mining, LE Standardized Work Creation & Revision)
Rotational Engineer
Throughout FMC's rotational program, I was able to spend time with multiple groups to continue to master the subsea product line and to apply engineering knowledge to areas that are often overlooked or misunderstood. With time spent in both North American Technology Center's R&D group and Western Region's Subsea Services SIT/Refurbishment group, daily work ranged from building equipment in the shop to working on design projects to improve shop safety & efficiency - Hands-on work consisted of subsea equipment tear-down, inspection, refurbishment, reassembly, and testing- Design work consisted of modeling, design calculations, and GD&T- Documentation consisted of procedure creation/modification, part report generation, and authorizations for expenditure- Schematic building consisted of test set-up schematics and schematic standardization efforts- Project trackers consisted of project progress updates, daily customer meetings with Shell & BP, and macro building to increase tracker interface- Parts control and equipment traceability efforts worked to improve a broken project inventory system
