Photography Consultant And Workshop Leader
CurrentInvitational Photo Tours is a small speciality photography tour and workshop travel company. In 2002, my wife Tanya and I began guiding people to the many exotic wildlife and nature destinations that I had been documenting as a conservation photographer for the previous 20+ years.Tanya grew up in the adventure travel business on the shores of Hudson Bay. Her father Len Smith started the polar bear viewing industry in Churchill, Manitoba back in 1981. Tanya spent her early years working with clients, running the Tundra Buggy Lodge, helping in the office, and eventually purchased Bear Country Inn to help cater to the burgeoning influx of tourists to Churchill. I have spent nearly 40 years as a photographer. Most of my work is targeted toward editorial publications with an emphasis in conservation and nature. Additional clients have included the paper products industry, ad agencies, newspapers, and many others who need nature shots from a competent photographer. I've published two conservation-related cover stories for National Geographic, one in February 2002 and the other in February 2005. I've served as an advisory board member for the conservation group Polar Bears International since 2002 and am also Director of their Arctic Documentary Project.SpecialtiesConservation & Nature Photographer, Conservation Advisor, Digital Photography Expert, Photography Marketing, Adventure Travel Consultant, Photo Tours and Workshops
