I have been working in the Aerospace field for 15 years. Through my years of experience working in the test and simulation environments, I decided to advance my education and pursue a degree in computational science. My previous role was working as a missile tracking algorithm engineer supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Participation in interdisciplinary research involving mathematicians, computational scientists, and various engineering disciplines. My experience as a skilled scientific programmer, systems integration manager, and innovative process developer inspired me to focus my effort into software engineering. My interest in software lead me to create quantitative trading algorithm by designing and developing backtesting software. The software uses walk-forward analysis and is designed to allow optimization of multiple variables. Working with General Atomics as a staff level systems integration engineer provided me with experience designing, testing, and integrating hardware and software for unmanned aircraft systems and simulation industries.I have worked with a variety of programming languages (C, C++, Matlab, Python, Javascript, Perl, and Fortran). I have experience with database design (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB). I have worked with a variety of optimization algorithms (Line Search, Trust Region, Conjugate Gradient, Quasi-Newton, and Simulated Annealing). I have worked with a number of different parallelization techniques (OpenMP, MPI, Cuda, and PThreads).
