I am curious about how intelligence and learning work, both in biological and artificial systems. I aspire to use this passion to benefit society by becoming a researcher in AI safety. I am particularly interested in the problem of AI alignment, the problem of making sure AI systems do what we want them to instead despite our far-from-perfect ability to encode our intentions into the objective functions that shape their behavior during training.I am currently working to improve my technical abilities and research skills and plan to pursue postgraduate education within the next few years. I was extremely fortunate to find a way to contribute to AI safety straight out of undergrad by advancing AI evaluations as a contractor with Equistamp. I am also developing GenAI systems for the classroom and college campus with Chiselle, an EdTech startup.Outside of my work I am a musician, lover of board games, and novice disc golf player. I recently joined the Saltaires, a barbershop chorus based in Salt Lake County, Utah, and am super excited to compete with them on stage this summer at the Barbershop Harmony Society international convention! At CWRU, I sang with Case in Point, the 2023 ICCA Midwest Semifinal runner-ups. I also sang with the Case Glee Club, along with singing with and music directing Briefcase, a barbershop quartet consisting of members of the Glee Club.
