The Session:Listen & Move is an open House Dance and Wellness session held at Grassroots Community Space in Jersey City, NJ. We provide a live DJ set of House, Techno and Experimental Music in a safe space as a platform for anyone to express themselves through movement. Come to dance, stretch, jump or simply listen.Move however you want to move.--------Our Mission: We believe expressive movement such as dance can be a way to connect the mind, body and spirit and evoke a desire to explore this connection. Through this connection we can learn more about ourselves and how we fit in our community, family and the overall fabric of our existence. Dance and music can become a conduit to understanding complex internal and social issues such as dealing with mental health related energy dysfunction, family communication and conflict resolution. This community based experience has been beneficial to us and our families over the past 20 years and our goal is to share it with our larger community.This program is based around the idea of community accountability. We cannot affect society positively if we don't absolutely take accountability for the affect our individual presence and energy have on our community. Dance presents the metaphor for this concept as it presents an opportunity to create the best version of ourselves and then share that energy with our community. We provide a safe space to motivate each other to do better, release that negative energy and just let it out! We hold each other accountable for our personal development, as a way to help lead people, including ourselves, towards better mental health, and create an overall better society.

I've learned to fine tune my conflict resolution skills by transferring my hospitality experience into the community work. I work with small and large diverse teams to solve problems and offer solutions. We offer space for hire as well as creative and brand consultation.

Abstract Movement is a brand that conveys my life's work and personal ideology that creative expression is a path to better mental, physical and spiritual wellness. I've developed these ideas over the past 15 years, and have recently started to incorporate them into community programs as a way to share them over the past 4 yearsAbout Us: We are a group of artists, teachers and community leaders based in Jersey City, NJ.Our goal is to share our individual experiences in which expressive creativity has helped us better our mental, physical and spiritual health and continue to curate experiences in which we can share and teach this to our community.We have developed programs & systems to integrate these experiences and ideas into events, group healing sessions , team building workshops , individuals daily routines and educators curriculum. House music and dance have been an integral conduit toward discovering and exploring the connection between our mental, physical & spiritual health, and are often the basis of our programming. After working as a bartender and server for a little over a year at Redwoods Grill and Bar, I managed day to day operations for 2 years and gained an unprecedented experiential knowledge of true hospitality and what it means to take care of your guests. I continued to manage Redwoods after moving to Jersey City, but the commute was too far for me, and I had to leave my management role. I created a role as an independent contractor where i was able to work from home to transfer this hospitality to online platforms by using my basic knowledge of web design and social media curation. I helped them realize that they needed to truly focus on their online presence and this position eventually became an important new role for their business model which has helped continue their great success.

Throughout high school I worked at a deli in North Jersey. As I got older, i attained more responsibility and eventually managed both an outdoor catering company and the deli, simultaneously. I worked for this organization for over five years. I realized and started to develop my potential as a customer service professional while working here.
