This involved liaising with the company directors and general manager, developing daily plans, and then briefing and coordinating a team of up to 30 instructors on a daily basis during the season.  Since joining the company, I worked to develop the level of professionalism of the instructors. Key to this was building a robust team environment with a no blame culture, as well as encouraging innovation from staff.  In the winter off-season, my responsibility shifted to implementing the scheduled maintenance program, ensuring that all equipment and activities were safe for use, as well as developing and building new activities. In this area, I developed and constructed modular floating pontoon systems and storage sheds, as well as regularly designing and fabricating parts for sailing boats. Show less

My responsibilities were primarily in the area of leading activity groups and Sailing Instruction. My work also branched into maintenance work on equipment and facilities.

Leenane, Co. Galway

My work in Killary Adventure Company focused on the delivery of the activities offered by the centre. These included in particular: Zipline set-up and running, High ropes, Gorge walking, Bog running, and team challenges. I was also responsible for evening games sessions with school groups, and Night supervision of school groups.
