My professional career started with my first job as Sailing Instructor in 2008. Since then I have continued to professionally develop myself, as well as gaining a wealth of experience in a range of activities and roles in different Outdoor Activity Centres. I now hope to transfer this wealth of experience and apply it in my new career area of manufacturing engineering.

This involved liaising with the company directors and general manager, developing daily plans, and then briefing and coordinating a team of up to 30 instructors on a daily basis during the season. Since joining the company, I worked to develop the level of professionalism of the instructors. Key to this was building a robust team environment with a no blame culture, as well as encouraging innovation from staff. In the winter off-season, my responsibility shifted to implementing the scheduled maintenance program, ensuring that all equipment and activities were safe for use, as well as developing and building new activities. In this area, I developed and constructed modular floating pontoon systems and storage sheds, as well as regularly designing and fabricating parts for sailing boats. Show less
