Product Development & Technical Account Management for Arina, a direct market access offering for the bank's Prime Services customers and the Program Trading desk. I built a regression-test/validation suite for the system in Jython on a Solaris 7 workstation, and I learned an important set of accountability skills while communicating via phone ("I'll call you back when it's done") and Lotus notes.

I designed the API interfaces to Javelin's FIX engines, starting with the TibcoRv and JMS interfaces to Coppelia. I also represented Javelin at the FIXML working group for a short time. I designed & implemented the suite of interfaces for Javelin's new product, Appia, and then I quickly learned the importance of backward compatibility and taking care of your customers. I had the opportunity to work on a few custom FIX integrations, one of which found me in Japan for the first time. As my first job out of school Javelin was a pretty wild ride, from 11 employees in a small space at 11 Broadway to two floors at 44 Wall St to acquisition by a public company, NYFIX.
