Red Ventures acquired CreditCards.com in November of 2017. From then on, I continued my responsibilities as a director with Red Ventures.With the acquisition of CreditCards.com, I worked to ensure the successful transition of the platform team into the Red Ventures culture, processes, and tech stack. This included: the integration of our key systems into an established data-pipeline using Google Protocol Buffers; integrating the platform team into the new HR processes; and working with the data-science and data-engineering team to understand CreditCards.com's data.After the acquisition, I led and transitioned the Red Ventures’ Cards Division’s revenue and customer-conversion tracking system from a legacy PHP application to a collection micro-services. These services worked together to collect revenue data from multiple data providers, and process that data into our PostgreSQL relation database and Google Protobuf data pipeline.

As the director of engineering, I was asked to form and establish a new platform engineering group responsible for the API and service development. As the director, I defined standards for:1. RESTFul API architectural style;2. authentication and authorization using Oauth2, Open ID Connect;3. request and response structure using JSON: API;4. application logging; and5. application instrumentation using NewRelic and DataDogI continued the role as the principal architect behind CreditCards.com's transition from a collection of monolith web applications to a micro-service architecture.

As chief architect, orchestrated the migration of the company's most business-critical systems to AWS to improve the reliability and availability of applications; do so with business continuity; established the company's first presence in AWS; worked to accomplish several high-level goals:1. map the existing legacy application architecture;2. identify and prioritize applications as candidates for "Lift and Shift" to AWS;3. work with software engineering and DevOps to establish our initial AWS architecture and strategy; and4. transition software engineering from monolith web applications to a micro-service architecture. Led the design and development of the company’s proprietary Engineering Resource Planning (ERP) platform which managed and distributed the company's aircraft engineering and manufacturing data to internal engineers, external customers and vendors. The development effort included:1. the building of a new PHP MVC framework and JavaScript UX framework to support a modularized single-page application;2. the facilitation of an inter-department collaboration to establish and integrate engineering processes into the application; and 3. working with on-site FAA representatives to ensure that the in-house software met regulatory compliance.
