I joined National Risk Assessment in 2005 when the company was in an early startup stage with no technology, no security policies, and no data management systems in place. I was responsible for setting up a secure, reliable and organized domain environment based on MS Windows.A detailed software research was conducted in order to locate an IME/Peer Tracking System that could serve our growing clientele through a secure, HIPAA compliant HTTPS connection. Considering customization being the key, we found no product that could stand up to the high standards of customer care set by the company. Therefore, a Department of Software Development was shaped in order to produce a new, state-of-the-art, HIPAA compliant IME/Peer case tracking system, called NIS (National Information System). As a result, the department has gathered all system requirements and concepts, planned the work ahead, designed, developed and tested the system, and further implemented it. At the time of the system disposition, the NIS had many features that other case tracking systems lacked; it was also an open-source project which made it simple to customize referral forms, profiles and reports accordingly to each customer individual requests. Within a short period of time, the NIS received very positive feedback from existing customers and made it possible for the company to grow and sign new contracts. By the end of 2007, the system was in a widespread use by key US Auto Insurance Carriers, such as: Geico, Esurance, Direct General, Progressive Auto and Met Life Auto Insurance, daily providing thousands of adjusters with claims data, documents, case history details, and other case-related information.I also took a role in local training for existing customers, such as quarterly seminars for Geico Insurance, where I had an opportunity to instruct classes of adjusters regarding utilization of the NIS claims tracking system.
